Research

My research activities focus generally on architectures of communication systems and on the integration of service platforms. My special interest is on security and privacy issues. Thereby, my focus is on network support for identity management and on privacy in mobile IP-based systems.

External Activities in the Research Community and Other Communities

o

2006-2007: Member of the - Permanent Stakeholders' Group of - ENISA. ENISA is the European Network and Information Security Agency, an Agency of the European Union. It is a Centre of Excellence for the EU Member States and EU Institutions in Network and Information Security giving expert advice and recommendations. Furthermore, it is a switchboard of information for best practices and facilitates contacts between the EU-institutions, the Members States and the private business & industry actors. The Permanent Stakeholders' Group is a group of experts that gives advice to the Executive Director in drawing up a proposal for the Agency's work programme, as well as in ensuring communication with the relevant stakeholders on all issues related to the work programme. Invited expert to the "Internet Security Workshop" of the High Level Group on Internet Governance (HLIG) of the EC. The workshop aimed at identifying security and stability challenges of the Internet. This activity of the HLIG is appreciated by the UN Working Group on Internet Governance.

Invited expert for the study - Security and Privacy for the Citizen in the Post-September 11 Digital Age: A Prospective Overview by the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Sevilla.

Member of the technical programme commitee of the - Eurescom Summit 2005, Ubiquitous Services and Applications - Exploiting the Potential.

Member of the technical programme commiteee of the workshop - Security, Privacy, and Trust for Pervasive Applications (SPTPA 2006) on the - 30th Annual International Computer Software and Applications Conference (COMPSAC 2006).
