Replacement connecting path and transmission channel determining method for optical transmission system, involves sharing transmission channels on replacement connecting paths such that performance modification of each path is minimum

Abstract

The method involves determining replacement connecting paths (EP1-EP2) during loss of an optical transmission circuit and transmission channels and current occupancy state of the channels on the paths. The channels are shared on the paths based on the determination such that performance modification of the each path is minimum, where the performance modification results through the switching of the replacement of the channels. An independent claim is also included for an automatically switched optical network for the determination of replacement connecting paths.
